Great Staughton Primary School
Great Staughton Primary School is a community school situated in a peaceful rural location in the Huntingdonshire district of Cambridgeshire. The opportunities for quality teaching and learning are enhanced through easy access to the natural environment.
In total we have 4 classrooms, each furnished with interactive white boards and access to the internet. The classrooms are situated around the main hall and dining area and are served by three separate toilet and cloakroom areas. The school benefits from a dedicated ICT suite (currently housing 15 computers and an interactive whiteboard), a kiln room and a library.
Behind the school is a playing field, which is used during dry weather. We also have an environmental area which provides an opportunity for the children to play in natural surroundings. Our environmental area includes a vegetable garden where children have an opportunity to grow food which is shared with others in school.
We have an on-site nursery run by Spice Childcare, which offers a breakfast club and after-school activities. We also have an on-site pre-school operated by Piglets Pre-School.
Great Staughton Pre-School is a registered charity (Charity No: 291000) that has been providing a happy, welcoming and safe environment for children to learn, play and develop for over thirty years. Conveniently situated next to Great Staughton Primary Academy School and the village playing field we aim to provide a warm caring environment that understands every child is unique.
A member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance and registered with Ofsted we are continually striving to improve the setting for the children. Currently rated as ‘Good’ with Ofsted we’re working hard to achieve ‘Outstanding’ in our next inspection.
