GREAT STAUGHTON PARISH – NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH

Recent Burglaries in Great Staughton

We’ve had three Burglaries over since our last entry in the Life magazine which is deeply saddening and we hope those affected by those crimes are starting to get their lives back to normal.

Since then we have been able to see an increase in vigilance of you all and an increase in the number of incidents reported to either the Police or your NHW co-ordinators, thank you all and keep up this level of awareness, we can hopefully put off potential further incidents.

In case there is confusion around how incidents should be reported this is guidance from the Police.

Dial 999 for Immediate Assistance from the Police if;

You see an incident in progress

Someone in immediate danger

Spot a suspect for a serious crime

See a traffic collision involving injury or danger to road users.

Dial 101 for all Non-Emergency calls;

Report crimes after they have happened i.e. discovery of a stolen items or property damage

Give information about crimes in our area

Speak to the police about general enquiries

Contact a specific officer or member of staff.

If you are deaf, deafened, hard of hearing or have a speech impairment and use a text phone please use 18000 for emergencies or 18001 101 for non-emergency calls.

The Bobby Scheme meeting 11th May at the White Hart;

For residents affected by house crime over 60 or residents living with disabilities or over 65 years old the Bobby scheme can help asses and secure your home for a small donation or even for free depending on your circumstances.

The Bobby Scheme can offer invaluable support and advice to help bring peace of mind and a sense of security, because of this Great Staughton NHW would like to invite all residents along to meet some of their officers who can answer your queries and hopefully help some people out with extra security.  We hope to see you there.
